Surf City

After that storm that snowed us in.. we went back to work.. to collect some stuff at the post office.. from last week.  We didn’t get to collect it.. because the weather was just too bad.  What an awesome surprised to receive a package of food gift all the way from Australia and from a blogging friend.  These bloggers are so wonderful.. and selfless.. they are so kind hearted and generous.   I have to send something back to her .. but what can i get her..??  something for her two gals.. i think.

As we ushered the old year out .. and welcome the new year .. i feel pretty pleased with myself.. for raising funds.. for my kid’s school.  Asking for money from strangers.. is no easy feat.. i’ll have to tell you .. but when i think what an unselfish act it is.. and the many kids that will enjoy the playground because of my hard work.. i can tell you it’s worth a million bucks.

The beginning of a dollhouse planned by the kid’s grandfather.  That’s only the base, hopefully, it will be done by next summer.  But knowing the kid’s grandfather.. hmmm…it should be done at least by fall.  He is feeling better the last time i saw him.

Yes..! the kid is spoilt.  A gift of a guitar .. a real one .. Kawasaki from the babysitter’s parents.  I wished they didn’t spend so much money on her.  But the kid loves it.. so I’m thinking of doing things back for them… but don’t know where to start.

The Wii remains the most sought after gaming system once again this year, even though it had been launched 3 Christmases ago to date.  The Nintendo Wii was sold out a month ago even though some folks from this town were crazy enough to queue up outside the local mall for it as early as 6.30am.  2 weeks before Christmas we had walk-ins, calls and many inquiries as to how they can get a Wii, since Walmart and even Amazon were sold out.  Some customer had tried eBay but most of the sellers were trying to cash in on the demand for it, but in my opinion it’s not worth paying that kind of price.

Love my own present to myself.  It isn’t anything expensive..  but i had wanted one for a long time.  The first one i bought i had given it to the man’s mother.. because it was with owls.. and i know she loves owls.  But these days.. i try to take care of myself first.. but i’m not always successful.. as you can see.  A small and personal gift to treat myself.. once in a while is a good thing eh.

What a day..!!!  it was horrid..!! that’s all i can say for now.  I never want to ever have another go on this kinda weather.  It is not only scary.. !! boy..!!! we could have lost our lives.. from the cold because power was gone.. and all.  It was the longest few hours .. before we headed to a friend’s house to get some heat.  A wood stove is the way to go .. i guess next year for our spring project.  But once we put in the stove .. i’m sure we will never get another storm.. given our luck.

The lil’ lunch bag was what we bought from the kid’s school for a fund raising thing.  A week ago, we received another one .. which said it was back ordered.  We promptly returned it to the school.. because it doesn’t belong to us.. and ours had arrived.  Honesty is very important to me.. and if i want my kid to be honest.. i have to set an example.  For all those cheaters out there.. if you are cheating . .to get a measly few bucks, you know your kids will also grow up and cheat you too.  Instilling good morale is darn important.. and it starts with you .. and if you think they don’t know.. man .. are you in for a rough ride in the future.

Cuteness and joy is having great friend/customer like him.  Not many ppl are sincere around here.. and if we find one.. we donch let go.  What about you …??

Made in the store.. by the kid .. a way to keep her busy .. and to thank the customers at our store.  She had so much fun.. wished i could share this with my online friends.  But having said this.. i feel sad that the kid’s grandparents.. never do anything like that with her before.  Sad..!
